Here at Red Barn Bicycles we love building high-quality, custom mountain and road bikes. We enjoy working with each customer personally to build a bike that fits their specific needs. An important upgrade would include a set of our hand built wheels using high-quality hubs spokes, nipples and rims.

Montana is rough country and we build and ride bikes that work well in the Rocky Mountains. Please view our gallery of recent bike rides and bike builds.

Shannon is riding good. A few tips for you to consider.

Ride early when snow is at its coldest.

Soft, smooth pedal strokes

Low tire pressure....The snow is currently cold, deep and soft and getting tires low really helps with traction and flotation. Today brian and I both started around 6psi and stopped to air down twice. When we got back to the shop we checked psi and found that 2psi front 3 psi rear was what was working for those upper elevation snow conditions. Someone was up there earlier that left deep ruts....no names mentioned. If you're leaving ruts...air down, pedal with soft strokes and if that doesn't help and air temps are too warm...consider exiting earlier and riding the lower elevation, less snow depth, better compacted options.

About it....pretty easy really to get that ideal setup that really enhances the ride. Good luck and have fun
